Phones are on but they still cannot get through?

If it is not an outage, it is often the number. A forward or divert can be refused. A landline that just rings your phone is different.

    Call costs at Belmarsh

  • The phone list can refuse a number. That is not phones down. Mobile, landline, and numbers that forward are treated differently. Since 11 August 2026, forwards can be refused.

    Why was my number rejected?

  • The prison network can be on and they still cannot get through. If the number forwards or diverts — cheap call apps, virtual landlines — the prison can refuse it. A landline that just rings your phone is different.
