What most prisons ask
OfficialGOV.UK updated the national closed-estate visitor dress list (Annex H) on 2 September 2026.
- Tops
No hoodies, see-through, or revealing clothing. No offensive slogans.
- Bottoms
No ripped jeans. Mini skirts only with leggings. Short shorts are out.
- Shoes
No steel-toe or cycle/motorcycle shoes.
- Outerwear
No jackets, coats, hoodies, or gloves.
- Accessories
No non-religious hats or scarves, sunglasses, or smart watches.
